Welcome to the SEC Power Poll website. The SEC Power Poll is a collaboration of member Southeastern Conference college football bloggers to evaluate and rank the teams in the SEC on an ongoing basis throughout the season. This website serves as both an entry portal for voting members of the SEC Power Poll and a central information source for those interested in the SEC Power Poll.

The SEC Power Poll begins in mid-August and runs through the end of the college football season. The polls will be published primarily at Garnet and Black Attack, the founder and administrator of the poll. Links and further insights on the SEC Power Poll may be found on the member websites, who are listed in the right sidebar.

As poll results are published, direct links to the member posts covering the respective Power Poll results will be posted here, providing a clearinghouse for interested SEC fans and an additional source of information for SEC or other college football bloggers. Florida solidifies its first place position over the tide.

Florida overhauls Alabama from behind for the #1 spot despite the fact that neither team has lost in the last six weeks.  The close call Alabama had at LSU and Florida’s continuing domination of opponents was the difference.

With Alabama and Florida now secure in thier Division championships, the rest of the SEC is fighting it out for what’s left.

It seems that the Florida Gators’ dominating performace over the Georgia Bulldogs in the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party has impressed the voters, as Alabama and Florida are now neck-in-neck for the top spot.  There are some changes below them as well.

The bottom half of the SEC sees a number of changes, while the upper have remains relatively stable.

This week’s poll sees Florida edging ever closer to Alabama, a big move up by the Gamecocks, and as always, incisive and humorous commentary from the SEC Power Poll contributors.

This week’s poll sees Florida and LSU make big moves in opposite directions.  South Carolina again becomes a factor in the poll, while one of the SEC’s premiere programs brings up the rear.
